Marbella East is a large area that covers urbanisations, villages and suburbs from the edge of Marbella and heading in the direction of Malaga, all the way to Cabopino.
It encompasses different sections of the coast where you will find some great restaurants, bars and some beautiful houses, although, the area is low residential and very green with many golf courses and small forests dotted around.
Discreetly positioned at the centre of the Costa del Sol, the town has retained its highly unique character and yet is beginning to be appreciated by visitors who are lured by the historic charm and character of the place. Part of the city's attraction is that of its intriguing layout which makes it particularly appealing for exploring. There are endless narrow streets, historic buildings and quaint old-fashioned shops which have remained largely unchanged despite the passage of time. This means that Malaga literally has something for everyone; a unique appeal which for one person may derive from the vitality and hospitality of the people, another from the architecture and, still another from the overall ambience and graciousness of the city. Benalmádena is divided in different districts, Benalmádena Costa, on the coast; the Puerto Deportivo of Benalmádena, Arroyo de la Miel and 'Benalmádena Pueblo'. There are approximately 50.000 habitants over 30 square kilometres. The highest peak here is the 'Cerro del Moro' with almost 1000m, and from here you can enjoy wonderful views across the Costa del Sol, Benalmádena and to the coast of North Africa and Gibraltar. Puerto Marina is a synonym for entertainment, mainly because of its Marina space for 1100 yachts up to 35m in length and 5m in depth.
Mijas-Costa is affectionately known to local residents, lies on the Costa del Sol in Spain approximately 25 minutes drive west from Malaga International Airport. The long beaches are well cared for, clean and soft golden sand. Whilst Mijas-Costa has maintained a level of the real Spain it has also taken on, in a small way, something of an international flavor. There are an abundance of good quality sports, recreation facilities and lovely residential areas both in and around Calahonda, La Cala de Mijas up to the villageMijas pueblo with its luxurious neighborhood Valdocado. The tennis club "Club del Sol" welcomes all costomers, there are gymnasiums, dive centers and virtually every outdoor activity within minutes of the villages. Special mention should be given to the competition standard golf courses at “La Cala” , “Mijas Golf”, “El Chaparal” and “Santana Golf“ close to the 5 star “Hotel La Cala Resort” - these courses are available to non members, tuition is available and equipment can be hired. If your interest in horses is strictly as a spectator, then the Hippodrome may well be for you. Recently built, the “Hipodromo del Costa del Sol” is just on the outskirts of La Cala and makes for a great family night out.
Cabopino / Artola
Cabopino is located between Marbella (12 km away) and Fuengirola (14 km away). It is a town with a beautiful and attractive beach as well as a harbour and an array of restaurants and bars. Without doubt, Cabopino is one of the Costa del Sol’s best-kept secrets, if you are looking for a traditional town directly on the sea. The name Cabopino means Pine Cape and this is exactly what you can expect when visiting the town. The extensive pinewoods are already visible from the main coast road and stretch all the way down to the beaches, which is very unusual for this region. To reach the airport of Málaga takes about 30 minutes.

Marbesa / Las Chapas / Carib Playa
Marbesa is on the coast just 12 km east from the centre of Marbella, between Puerto Cabopino and Elviria. Marbesa is an older part within the Elviria beach area, with beautiful private villas, situated just a few hundred metres from the Artola Dunes, which is protected area of outstanding natural beauty, from where you can walk to the charming Puerto Cabopino to the east.
Hacienda Las Chapas / Reserva de Marbella
Hacienda Las Chapas is located on the hillside overlooking Marbella East. Its residents may enjoy the pleasure and moorage of the marina of Cabopino and relax in the safe neighbourhood of Hacienda Las Chapas. Hacienda Las Chapas is one of the most privileged neighbourhoods to live. The area’s broad streets and abundance of palm and pine trees create a “luxury feeling”. The villas are built on somewhat larger plots and therefore offer privacy and exclusivity.
Elviria is situated between Marbella and Cabopino, Elviria has long been a popular holiday resort and is home to the five stars “Don Carlos Hotel”. Elviria is further home to the internationally renowned Santa María Golf & Country Club, a challenging 18 hole golf course. Elviria is well suited for families and has become increasingly popular for second homes as well as full time residences for many foreign visitors. Located on the coast, approximately 10 km east of Marbella, Elviria is home to many superior quality developments, urbanizations and luxury villas, most of which are set on an elevated position overlooking the coast. The beach club “Nikki Beach”, the beach restaurant “Beach House” and the restaurant “Il Lago” (Michelin Star), the Italian Restaurant “Rosmarino” and the organic food offering Bio supermarket "Elviria's Deli" are only some of the special places in that urbanization.
El Rosario / Las Chapas Playa
El Rosario, located 2 km from Elviria, is a very sought after area with a lot of beautiful private villas and well distributed plots of land. The urbanization has all the facilities to be a good and secure urbanization. From El Rosario you have only 1 km to the lovely beaches. El Rosario has close distance to the well-known golf course Santa Clara where you can enjoy a challenging 18 whole golf course while you are overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and Gibraltar as the southernmost point of Europe. The urbanization offers some of the best beach restaurants on the coast.
Los Monteros: The five stars Los Monteros Hotel is one of the most prestigious hotels on the Costa del Sol. It is associated with the Río Real golf course about 3 kilometres from the hotel itself. The beach club of the Hotel, “La Cabane”, is one of the most exclusive places on the East side of Marbella. Also worth noting is that the Hospital Costa del Sol is right off the Los Monteros exit and is well known as one of the area's highest quality health centres. The hospital overlooks Santa Clara golf course and luxury urbanizations. Los Monteros is about 10 minutes from the English International College. Los Monteros is considered as the most exclusive neighbourhood of Marbella East. The area consists of the districts of La Reserva de Los Monteros and Bahía de Los Monteros on the beach side, and Los Altos de Los Monteros up in the hills. The golf courses of Río Real and Santa Clara are accessible by car within 5 minutes and the course of Cabopino and Santa María only need the double amount of time. Bahía de Marbella is the exclusive neighbourhood of Los Monteros, a quiet new urbanization with the most exclusive estates and high quality apartment complexes. It is located between the old part of Los Monteros with the five Star Hotel Los Monteros and the urbanization La Reserva de Los Monteros.
Río Real with the oldest golf course of Marbella (1965) is surrounded by green areas, the river ”Río Real” and offers an exclusive mixture of villas, townhouses and apartments a stone throw away from Marbella’s centre (3 km to Marbella's centre).
